  1. I was reading the "ghost lettering" thread and as per on of the administrators suggested to start a new topic, so here goes............

Left me first say this isn't a knock at any specific department per say but an observation that I have seen for a while now that would fall under this topic

using "your chiefs" car to go to another county and park it at the train station when you work in NYC. I think that this example is a total waste of resources for 10-12 hours a day it's sitting in a parking lot not even in your response area, its used as a glorified station car. Plus add in the tolls (if there is any) and gas

    just my thoughts....

  2. With the Fire Brigade it all depends on when the Incident occurs. We have fire brigade members staffed during the week 24 hours, and on the weekends sometimes yes and no. All of the Brigade members are craft/ union guys with Metro north. They also do EMS, fire drills, inspections etc.

There is a full time Fire chief and now an assistant Fire chief. They are dispatched by the fire command center located in the terminal.

  3. I have Verizon FIOS its a little bit more money but there is no fighting over loosing channels. I really love FIOS and my internet is faster 25/25 upload/download. Also there is a battery backup so if the power goes out I can still use my phone for up to 8 hours. Although I am in a contract for 3 years I know that every month I pay the same amount.

Sorry for the plug for Verizon.

  4. with how dumb people are today and don't take responsibility for there own actions, "the next of Kin" would more then likely try and sue the department and blame the chauffeur.
