With the new town of Ossining becoming WCPD a few questions for the cops out there:
1. Does the Town PD time count when they became a WCPD officer?
2. Do they patrol there normal sector, or can they be moved all over the county?
Thanks for the info

I thought I heard on the news that the fire department union did some agreement with the city and there would be no layoffs. The police department is another story all together. IMO people love the fire departments in the country and not the Police until you need them.

With the Fire Brigade it all depends on when the Incident occurs. We have fire brigade members staffed during the week 24 hours, and on the weekends sometimes yes and no. All of the Brigade members are craft/ union guys with Metro north. They also do EMS, fire drills, inspections etc.
There is a full time Fire chief and now an assistant Fire chief. They are dispatched by the fire command center located in the terminal.

I have Verizon FIOS its a little bit more money but there is no fighting over loosing channels. I really love FIOS and my internet is faster 25/25 upload/download. Also there is a battery backup so if the power goes out I can still use my phone for up to 8 hours. Although I am in a contract for 3 years I know that every month I pay the same amount.
Sorry for the plug for Verizon.

as the article stated with some of the comments that the gangs and crime is pretty bad in that area, is the city going to combat the gangs and stuff. because you can build all these nice things, but you can't leave your apartment because you don't feel safe..........

This may be a dumb question but whi is the starting Salary is pretty low for being in "westchester county" and with the way cost of living is for up here...
-
with how dumb people are today and don't take responsibility for there own actions, "the next of Kin" would more then likely try and sue the department and blame the chauffeur.

Hey all,
I am currently seaching to buy a Co-op and or condo and There are a few places in Yonkers that seem nice. It would be nice to be near one of the railroad stations either hudson or harlem line. What areas are Good and what areas are "bad" in Yonkers. (I have heard that Yonkers with a Bronxville PO is very nice).
Any Information would be greatly appreated

With the SCPD out of the Island Its my understanding that the villages in there charter had to obsolve there local police department and then the county would take over the police services.

I was reading the "ghost lettering" thread and as per on of the administrators suggested to start a new topic, so here goes............
Left me first say this isn't a knock at any specific department per say but an observation that I have seen for a while now that would fall under this topic
using "your chiefs" car to go to another county and park it at the train station when you work in NYC. I think that this example is a total waste of resources for 10-12 hours a day it's sitting in a parking lot not even in your response area, its used as a glorified station car. Plus add in the tolls (if there is any) and gas
just my thoughts....
