  3. Just because you are on the board does not translate to getting a warm body to speak to as far as pt report and transfer of care right away. I have waited as someone has stated before ,quite a while, before someone even notices we are there...dont get me wrong... I know the ERs in this area get taxed to the max at times. But even after getting a bed we have waited a while to give a report.

With Vassar ER it runs deep with mis-communication, no organization at times and a staff that can be very overworked. One of the saddest parts of the matter is management just doesn't care.

  4. Whats with all the cars, do you guys respond direct to scene ?

If you are refering to the shot to the Taconic a good bit is traffic. There was a call for all available man power which of course brought personal vehicles. It urged especially with anything that involves the Taconic to arrive aboard a piece of apparatus and avoid personal vehicles at the scene.

  5. HVP provides coverage from 5am-5pm Monday through Friday as 54-79 as well as ALS Coverage 7 days a week.

Regional covers Florida, Warwick, Greenwood Lake, Greenville and Port Jervis areas

56-79....they dont have Pawling no more ;)

They do not cover Pleasant Valley 24/7..... Monday-Friday 5am to 5pm primary ALS response, and ALS coverage/intercepts on the non contracted hours based on availability.

I dont think they can afford to staff that second unit on nights anymore right?

  9. Having seen them in operation in their heyday of the 1960's and '70's, and also in the lean years that followed for a while, I am glad that they have been able to make this giant step. I personally don't care what's on the door of the rig, as long as when the door opens, there are qualified people stepping out of it. I drive an ambulance, it says "100% volunteer" on the side, and if I ever see BVAC at Saints, Vassar, or driving up Route 9, I won't be insulted at all.

It is not about us. We all know what is what. It comes down to the public and being misleading.
