what is the route of the parade, start to finish?Parade starts at 3 pm on Westchester Ave at Station 4 east to Main st, south past the south end firehouse to Midland Ave near Pathmark.

I've heard through the grapevine that Scarsdale has had some problems with their apparatus committee, resulting in a poorly written spec that provided no bids. Maybe moving to something like this unit, specced by a large progressive dept. would make it easier on them to get newer apparatus that is needed. Looking at the photo I'm guessing 1500/750?I heard Scarsdale was looking to bid an engine and a truck.

JC, I am sorry that you feel that a house that has career and volunteers in the same building is a recipe for disaster. I respect your opinion. But in my opnion, it can and does work if you mutually respect each other like we do in Port Chester. We have a good working relationship. We sometimes have our differences, but I am sure that you have some with your own co-workers from time to time. Stop by our parade on Saturday and see for yourself.

So much for a June or July completion.Seth, you should take a ride up to Mahopac on Rt6 @Croton Falls Rd, it looks like its complete.

United towing on Halsted Ave in Harrison recently purchased a large rig like the LA one.

Heard it was delivered to Excelsior in Mamaroneck today.
-
Saw it there today as I drove by, but didnt have a camera with me.

I am sure that if anything is to come of this, the media will find out like they always do and we will all know eventually.

Both ladders are nice rigs. The only gripe I have about them is that they sound more like police cars without federals on them. I just personally think that the public recognizes that distinct sound as that of a piece of fire apparatus.

I think the final inspection is next week.

The New England Fire Chiefs show in Springfield Mass is a good one also. It isnt that far at all.

I know Smeal still makes one.

I heard that Rye's new ladder 25 will be one of the last ones to be built. They are doing a final inspection of it in the middle of September

There is no one in the US with my name. I guess I dont have to go to work tomorrow!

I saw them going to the rear of the structure. I dont know if there were any hydrants back there. Ardsey wasnt getting much pressure off the hydrant on Benedict either which was at the main entrance. You would have to ask someone from Tarrytown.

The head of brooksville's truck committee (eng 62) wanted a kme. So thats what the rest of the guys agreed to. lol.

It had to do with the amount we could spend. A tiller is just too expensive. It will look like Lake Mohegans Ladder 35 without the pump. Anything else you want to know about it, just ask.

Too bad they couldn't keep it as a second piece, with the glut of tower ladders in Mt Pleasant. That Maxim looks quick to set up, and could get into some very tight spots in the area(driveways), that a tower ladder would never go.It is for sale at www.nefea.com

It is being loaned by New England Fire Equipment who just delivered Wassaics tanker, Yonkers 3 rearmounts and are building Trucks for Mt Kisco and Port Chester.

I wandered onto this. Rye's old ladder 26 for sale for $18,900. I think it sold for $5,000 this past spring. You can view it at www.villagetrucksales.com
