  1. It is with great sadness and sympathy that we announce the the passing of recently retired Fairview Firefighter/Brother Robert "Bert" Mentrasti who left us this morning. Bert was a great Union man, and a big supporter of the MDA (one of the greatest supporters). He lead the Union on our MDA Boot Drives, was a big supporter of the Maryland MDA Softball Tournament, and a great friend to Jeni Stepanek and her late son Matty. We send our sympathy to Bert's family, especially to his brother, Hartsdale Fire Commissioner Andy Mentrasti, and his nephews, Hartsdale Fire Captain Tim Mentrasti, Hartsdale Firefighter Chris Mentrasti, and finally to his twin brother Ronnie Mentrasti who helped out at many Union car shows. Funeral arrangemets will be posted when received. Retired Firefighter Robert "Bert" Mentrasti's Funeral Arrangements: Wake: Ballard Funeral Home 72 East Main Street Elmsford, NY Monday April 17; 1600 HRS to 2100 HRS Tuesday April 18; 1600 HRS to 2100 HRS Funeral Mass: Sacred Heart Church 10 Lawton Ave (@ intersection of Central Park Ave) Hartsdale, NY Wednesday April 19; 0945 HRS
