  1. they provided standbye coverage for are inspection. and we have done the same for those depts for the last few years so try not to bad mouth it till u know the facts.

Bad mouth not at all like i said not to offend anyone but it doesnt make sence Ossining, 40 mins away nevermind Mahopac, not even in Westchester when local depts are closer. To me it just blows my mind

  2. Ok i just got in and i gotta ask why? It seems alot of posts get deleted theses days and im sure this 1 will too. But why a Ossining Engine and most of all a Mahopac Engine in Port Chester it doesnt make sense. Talk about abusing the system We all talk about Mt Vernon abusing the mutial aid system but this 1 takes the cake with all the local depts close by.I dont know why this was let to take place .....Truly a miss use of the mutial aid system. I can undrestand Mamaroneck & Rye but Ossining & Mahopac well thats hard to swallow. Sorry if i offened anyone

  3. Just a few points 1st this was a fun prank that even both chiefs couldnt stop laughing 2nd There were 2 other chief trucks there in service and 3rd even if it was a little delay that 2241 had to get the truck off the flatbed and respond the other 2 chiefs would of responded and most of all chief trucks dont put out fires FIRE TRUCKS do....As I said before loosen up

  4. This kind of stuff should stop before somebody gets hurt! Pranks are funny but at what cost are you guys willing to go. When somebody gets hurt thats when it will stop. :D

Its all harmeless fun please get a life,,,,,,,The truck was driven on there not dragged , just for the picture opp. Not at any time was anybody in danger sometimes we need to have fun with this and i think its great ....to others ....well there loss ,loosen up...

  5. I didnt get it all thats why i'll do what i can do here instead of a IA. About 0330 VMFD & VMPD were dispatched to Greacen Point Rd for a report of a house fire. VMPD car 312 O/S reporting house fully involved in the rear and through the roof. Car 315 reports to car 340 ( FD 2241) heavy fire fully involved unknow if the owners got out. Cars in driveway came back to the address. Knowing that road i can say that Greacen Point Rd is a long windy road thats rite on the waters edge and is not much wider than your usual driveway and to make matters worse the house is at the end of the dead end and had a electric iron security gate that had to be cut down before the 1st due got in the driveway. Aroud 0630 PD reports that the owners were in Mass. and that the house was undergoing remodeling and that there was nobody in the house at the time of the fire nor any household items. Under control time was around 0900. Im sure knowing the VMFD and giving all the things they had to deal with there, the men & women of VMFD did a hellva job..

  6. Last nite while i had the scanner on about 11pm the Village of Mamaroneck police were dispatched for wires down in turn the FD was also dispatched. 2 calls were put into Con Ed by PD and 60 Control both got the answer no eta. About 45 minutes later 2 more calls were put in agian by PD and 60 Control the answer they got was a hour and a half eta. To me it seemed like a quiet nite no stroms no big fire calls where Con Ed would be tied up. I would of put barricades and yellow tape i dont know what time Con Ed finally showed up i went to bed unlike the poor guys sitting on the call for who knows how long then they had to get up to go to their jobs today. Ive been on calls where we had wires down burning in the street and taped it off and left after waiting hours for Con Ed. I think its time Con Ed took a look at there responce time and for local depts. to start billing them for there time on scene waiting

  7. The Village of Pelham FD is looking into and talking with the FDNY to buy a 1990 something Seagrave Engine. The engine will replace the current Eng 5 which is a 1978 Seagrave. This wont be the 1st time that Pelham bought a FDNY engine in the early 90's they bought a 1978 Mack ex Eng 290 that replaced the old Eng 5 which at the time was a 1956? ALF. They got 6-7 good years out of the Mack then when the new Eng 4 arivved in 1997 the Mack was donated to WCFC for training. Eng 5 is the 2nd due engine and the eng that Pelham takes out of town for mutial aid .I heard this might happen by the end of the summer or early fall about the time that the New Ladder 2 comes in.
