  1. My 2 cents I feel it's a "Perk" for a volly kind of like a thank you chief for all of the time and energy you put in over the years protecting our towns. No I don't think every member of a volly dept should get this same "perk" because as stated before a chief officer has a lot more responsibilities then any other member of a dept and I hope he puts a lot more time and effort into the job. Besides I know in my dept the members do get a few perks themselves. For example free movie passes up to 5 tickets, free pool memberships at the town pool for you AND your family, a work out room in HQ. So I really don't think a car that probably IS being used 80% of the time for dept issues cant be used for personal matters as well. Just don't abuse it.

  2. Yes I agree that the persons post who got deleted or edited should be notified. But other then that I really feel the mods and admin are doing a great job and should keep up the good work. It's been said before and I will say it again if you don't like the way things go here just LEAVE no one is holding a gun to your head and making you log on to this site. Sorry for the rant but this bothers me that all these people do is complain about this site and it's FREE for anyone to come and go.

  3. there are so many xxx1 call numbers (the chiefs). i know this gets brought up all the time, but is their really a need to have soooo many chiefs respond to a scene where IC is already established? what about their own districts? seems like a lot of "i wanna play" and not enough i should stay back and take care of the fort.

I think thats why depts. also have Asst. chiefs.

  4. The reason commisioners and chiefs dont like this site is because they see many first responders in the 18-40 age group who are unhappy with the state of emergency services in not only the Huson Valley but nationwide. These comissioners/chiefs and their ideas have held power for a long time over their individual fifedoms and kingdoms and they are desperate to hold on to it. There is a whole generation of young people out there who are extremely passionate about firefighting, EMS and law enforcement, and they are getting together on the internet and imagining radical change to the way we train, operate and organize. The "establishment" is terrified of this free exchange of information and ideas.

    well said!

  5. Another question about the points. How do some members with only like 30 or something posts have over a million points?? Just out of curiosity. Also this doesn't really have anything to do with points but how come there are Alpha members with only 30 or so posts?? I read the thread about it and they said you can also be and alpha member if you consistently post well thought out and well informed posts but some members are only here for a few months with only 30 posts. Im not trying to start a battle just curious.
