  1. You actually have to take a class to be "certified" on the bikes apparently they're gonna make you ride 15 miles and only the emts can ride them. And if you're on duty you can't take them out.


  2. Just back from getting decals on them the other day are 4 bikes various sizes outfitted with ems jump bags to be used at large scale ems stand-bys and for patrol on the stretch of bike path that we cover. They are numbered 31-9-6 31-9-7 31-9-8 and 31-9-9.

  8. The department that I started out in as an explorer has a mask confidence course in the attic and at the substation there is a roof simulator. The mask confidence course included a forcible entry simulator and wall studs that you had to breech through it also had a part where you had to go across attic rafters.

    Description Of Incident: Originial dispatch was for smoke inside the residence caller reported

    smoke coming from the basement and disconnected with 911 dispatcher advised he could hear alarms sounding in the background.NYSP arrived on scene and confirmed

    smoke showing from all levels of the structure and shortly after reported flames in the basement. The fire was

    contained to number 34 Brewster woods drive with a smoke condition in 33 and 35.

    Victim had multiple stab wounds to chest and rib cage and a possible fractured eye transported BLS to Putnam Hospital Center by Carmel VAC. Suspect still at large with numerous police agencies involved in a search.
