What's with the "100% volunteer" lettering? What is the purpose? Should paid departments put "100% paid" on the side of their vehicles?
Does it really matter? Who cares!

Most Southern Westchester Departments stopped using them years ago.

Its a 3/36 regular Ford warranty although most cars will hit 36k miles before the 3 yrs.
Except for when they leave them in the lot parked for 2 years, or more, in some cases I am aware of.

The problem with this is that these cars will probably sit in a lot and never be driven before the factory warranty is up. Happens all the time.

It is, in fact, a crosssover based on the Ford Taurus. Base drivetrain is FWD, with AWD optional. The police package will be pursuit rated, unlike the current generation.
While I am slightly bothered by seeing the Explorer becoming a crossover, this is what the market wants. I have no doubt that Ford will be successful with this one.
The waiting list to get one is long, 3 to 6 months is what I was told. All being delivered now have been acocunted for, so unless somebody backs out after the delivery to the dealer, you are going to have to wait. Early indications are it is a hit and will be a hot seller.

The only things the phrase "expedite" means to me is that something serious and bad is happening or going to happen and shows the urgency of the call or sitaution. If I was not "rushing" to get there, I may speed it up a bit, but, I am not going to kill myself or anybody else in the process.

Deep Fried Turkey is way better then an oven turkey and smart people can cook a deep fried turkey safely and just fine, it is the not so smart people we have to worry about.

And the new county car paint and marking scheme will be out shortly. As far as mutual aid, when somebody calls for help, trust me, it comes and comes quick, there should be no worries about delays.

Apparently, word on the street is that Mrs Seigel will be taking a pay raise over the next year... We'll be looking into this
And I would not doubt it, politicians are infamous for this, make cuts and sacrifices, but exempt themselves.

OK, here is what will happen, and should happen, if they want to save $4000 measley dollars, everytime an outside agency has to bring in a K9, charge them, they will reach that $4000 real quick. What is that saying about pennies and pounds and being foolish? It kills me how politicians find such measley expenses to cut but then the big ones, sometime the easiest to cut or eliminate, never get looked at.

For the Chevy Caprice PPV, orders may begin to be placed in January 2011. http://www.chevroletcapriceppv.com/?seo=goo_|_2010_Police_|_Fleet_Caprice_PPV_|_New_Launch_|_chevy_caprice#home
The new Ford seems interesting. As for the front wheel drive, only time will tell. The current Impalas are front wheel drive, and the ones in the city (NYPD) always seem to be making some type of noise or pull. Anything will be better than the Ford Fusion Hybrids they have been giving out lately(just way to small)
The Chevys do not hold up well at all. The County had them, no more. The Ford's are much more durable.

Yes, I would pay a fee to help cover costs to keep this great site running.

For the most part, all the cars accessories are installed at the County PD garage. Thety are also stripped there.
