I am a memeber of Washington Engine Co. in Croton and every year we take time to decorate our firehouse. I think that is a great idea and would love to send pictures in and see other firehouses as well!

If there isn't another FAST for 30 minutes just leave them as FAST; everybody else always has engines and trucks to go mutual aid. You can always backfill as well.

I do not believe the chief ever said that the FTC doesn't give enough time, i believe he was just getting at the point that its difficult for his dept. to find time that fits their dept.'s schedule as well. However, if there were a facility in Croton, it would be a lot easier b/c there wouldn't be the hassles of scheduling and making everyone's schedules work together. Also the facility wouldn't be for live fire; it would just be for search evolutions vehicle training and other operations so as far as moving in stages, well of course you need some classes you listed above, but you do not need all those classes. Im sure the chief knows what hes doing!

It's better to have to undo the waist strap and restrap for a rapid extrication then to get tangled up and spend an extra five minutes trying to untangle therefore becoming disorientated inside an environment where most of the time you cannot see anything!

The best is when a unit gets on and repeats the nature and location of the call like the dispatcher didn't know or they had so many other calls going on that they had to say which they were going to LOL!

The saddest part about LODD's is that after most of them, a law is created or equipment that guys begged for before hand is bought. Where is the common sense for these situations. You have to freaken get one of your guys killed to get something WHAT A CROCK OF $H*T
