  1. Way to go Big Blue - I wish it could have been the Jets to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to NY, but I'm still very happy for the Giants, and even happier to get those damn New Englanders to open mouth and insert foot. LOL!!!
  2. G-I-A-N-T-S. GIANTS GIANTS GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to the G-men from a Jets fan!!!!!!!!
  3. Chirs - I just sent you 100 points - if there's 2 boxes left, i'll take whatever - don't really care which numbers they are
  4. Another Video I created a few months back, just finally getting it on Youtube. It's all from the transition of going from the 1984 Mack to 2006 Seagrave.
  5. Being a Jets fan, i despise the patriots... Being from NY, I don't mind the Giants... GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!
  6. I just got back. I must say, I was kind of disappointed. It seems like every year they have fewer vendors. There were quite a few nice pieces of apparatus. Oh yeah, and Hooters afterwards, as always, was a home run.
  7. Soooo... can I pick one up at wal-mart? lol!!

  10. A bump is when you post something, it goes inactive, and then you "bump" it up to remind people. a** far as a cover charge tonight, not sure. We're not charging, I'm not sure if the bar is.
  11. bump... COME OUT AND SEE US, PEOPLE!!!!!!
  12. I gotta say, I used to love KRock Back in the day, before the Free FM switch. Now it's ok, but still not the greatest. I find myself listening to my iPod the most, followed by Q104, then Krock. If I wanted to listen to the pretender by the foo fighters, or iky thump by the white stripes 10 times a day, i'd put my iPod on repeat.

  17. L12 Just got to Sta 1 a little while ago for the night. The tip is now painted Hi-Vis Orange. I tried getting a picture to post, but I can't seem to open the pictures sent from my phone on my email... It is a beautiful truck
  18. I just spoke to one of my buddies who works at station 2. He informed me that as of today, the new L12 is in service. I'll try and get some pictures
  19. Between the time that the Sutphen tower was retired for good, and the loaner from Yonkers came in, they were using the old Engine 18 as a "Quad." It had all the ladder equiptment, just no stick. Once the current TL-11 went out for major repairs, they picked up the old L78 so they would still have 3 true ladder trucks in service.
  20. I know its a little last minute, but my band is playing tonight in Lagrange. We're going to be at Lil Sue's Hideaway on Rt 55 at the Apple Valley Shopping Center. We're going on sometime between 9 and 9:30. Come on by and check us out. YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED!!!
  21. As far as Westchester, I have to agree with 242Steve - best display I've seen is Harrison. For anybody heading up to Dutchess County.... Old Sylvan Lake Rd in Hopewell Junction - right off the Taconic by Beekman Rd - about 1/2 a mile up on the left is a house that puts the Dutchess County Airport's runway lights to shame. Really an excellent display
  22. Usually if there's over 2 inches or so, we'll go out and "stokes-ride" down the hill next to the firehouse. We've also been known to "test" the smoke machine inside apparatus room.

  25. Anybody who has ever worked commercial EMS knows that it's near impossible to put consective shift restrictions on emplyoees, especially when most techs and medics are working 2, 3, or sometimes even 4 jobs. I can remember a time I did 24 hours consective in New Rochelle, and the went to my "A" job at the time for another 18 consecutive, had 6 hours off, and then back to the "A" job for another 18. I know trancare has the policy that employees can only do 24 hours straight, but they have no control over what the employees do once they are off the clock. Also, when staffing is really short, I've done over 40 hours straight with transcare. I guess what I'm trying to say is, no matter what policies are in effect, in the under-staffed, under-paid world that is EMS, it's damn near impossible to control consecutive hours worked by employees. Each person has to know their own personal limitations.
