  1. I have been on both sides of the dispatch was orignally fire and ems and Police Dispatcher I know when i work and receive and aided call via 911 or any emergency line i automatically transfer the call to fire control so if the call needs to be emded it is
  2. mike I'm not negative about Fasteams matter of fact i have been a member of my departments fasteam for a few years but alot of people think they are needed for every fire when in fact you dont i know there may not be an ordinary fire but there are plenty of one room fires that get knocked down with a water can You can always cancell the fasteam enroute to a call but even if you investigating a fire your usually bring in extinguishment equipment to put out a fire you come accross so your fire could be knocked out in two seconds so in alot cases you dont need a fasteam.
  3. CHRIS YOU DONT ALWAYS NEED A FASTEAM RESPONSE WE HAVE HAD ALOT OF ONE ROOM FIRES WHERE WE DIDNT CALL FOR A FASTEAM NOR DID WE NEED THEM THERE WHY TIE UP THE RESOURCES IF WE DONT NEED THEM AT ALL . HUDSON REGUARDING YOUR COMMENT ON HAVING YOUR OWN GUYS DO A FASTEAM FOR FIRE YOU COULD BE USING THOSE GUYS FOR THE ACTUAL ATTACK OF THE FIRE INSTEAD OF TIEING THEM UP ON FAST HENSE YOU CALLING IN A MUTUAL AID DEPT FOR FAST WHEN IT IS NEEDED.

  5. I know most of the county is thankful do to the fact our ems is on another channel totally its been two days and being a member of both fire and ems with mohegan its a big change to get use too i keep checking my pager to see if its on all the time because the last two days have been so quiet it is a good thing it does free up alot of airtime Hudson to address what you said it wasnt all the time we toned out 3-4 times for each call you taking a handful of calls that we do. As a vac we respond to around 3500 calls a year wich is alot for an all volunteer ems agency to handle but we handle it yes car accidents and other calls do get covered faster because we cover alot of bs calls at nursing homes and other facilities that members are burnt out that you to everyone else for supporting mohegan.

  17. Hey Guys- The Carvel was not open last summer. The Carvel, as well as the Westbrook Inn, was supposed to be sold and I know they wanted to put up a Mobil Mart and as for the screen, the screen and the concesssion building were still standing after Station 4 was built. As RES20CUE said, that is where Bluejay estates now stands. This past weekend, I did see someone open up the Carvel, so maybe there is hope for it this summer.

  23. Well Mohegan Vac is working on getting dispatched by fire control which will probably happen within a few weeks and then you wont hear any ems calls dispatched over 46.26 we currently operate on our own UHF frequency for the actual disp and response. Mohegan on the fire end we do have our own UHF Districtwide frequency that we operate on alot on scene's aswell as UHF fire ground frequency so we are getting better
