FDNY Rescue 4 Question

7 posts in this topic

I was wondering if anybody here can answer a question for me.

I go to Queens on a regular basis for work. I've noticed for a while that Rescue 4 is driving around in the donated American Lafrance rescue. Does anyone know what happened to the E-One they had?

I think there regular rig is still being fixed a couple of months back they had an accident and did alot of damage to the cab of the truck so they are probably waiting for the shops to finish the fix.

If i am not mistaken the rig the have now is the "spirit of Oklahoma"

I am not certain about the damage to the regular R4 but I think you are correct in saying they are, at least temporarily, using the donated rig. The Spirit of Oklahoma is really a really nice piece of appratus.

Rescue 4 did have an accident a few months back. It is currently in the shops in Queens and looks pretty good.

Rescue 4 is operating again with the rig, using a new E-One cab. The Mack/General is a special operations vehicle, I'm not sure for what purpose though.
