  1. Has the New Foam Unit been Re=Labeled Yet? Hoefully, FDMV plans on Repainting it White on Red and then Relabeling it !!(Hope So, since all of the Other FDMV Rigs are White on Red - That would make sense). Your thoughts on that ?
  2. Dennis Leary Wannabees !
  3. Did Excalibur do all of the Labeling and Numbering on the New FDMV Tower 1? It looks terrific? If so, are they (Excalibur) going to be doing the same for the New FDMV Foam 1? (I hope that it is painted in the Same White on Red Paint Scheme as Tower 1 was!). Any ideas on when we might be able to see a photo(s) of the New FDMV Foam 1 Unit (Painted and Labeled) ?
  4. Someone else placed a post concerning how many fire stations did Mount Vernon have back in the 1970's. Very interesting question. Now I know that the Station on West Third Street is fairly new, with Oak Street, South Fulton Avenue, and the Lincoln Avenue Headquarters being around for some time, I am not sure of the others (I would presume that PRIOR to the New Station on West Third Street, there was another OLD Station that housed a Ladder and Engine Company, with the Rescue being housed at a Single Station, (before moving it to the South Fulton Avenue Station). Does anyone know about some of the Old Stations?
  5. Now you get a chance to take Photos of both the New FDMV Foam 1 Rig as well as the New Ladder Truck !!! - We all here at EMTBravo.com look forward to seeing the Photos of both the FOAM TRUCK and LADDER TRUCK - Much Thanks
  6. Thanks Cam - We look forward to hearing back from you (Any New Updated Photos of the New FDMV Foam Unit 1 repainted and labeled would be an added bonus for all - If you can get your hands on any) - Thanks!
  7. Has FDMV repainted Foam 1 in Red with all of the Labeling on it?
  8. Since the Mount Vernon FD Web Site is not as updated and informative as the Yonkers FD Web Site (www.yfd.org), can you tell us by Station, what rigs are housed where (including all Secondary Rigs such as the Foam Unit, as well as Reserve/Back Up Rigs), ie: what is in what station?
  9. I believe that Headquarters still has File Poles. I believe that Station 4 still has a Fire Poll (Not sure about Station 6, 7 and 10). Can anyone else help me out on this one for Yonkers?
  10. Any thoughts, ideas, timeframes, and/or plans, to have EMTBravo.com cover a Web Link to the Live Dispatch Channels of Yonkers FD (46.50), Mount Vernon FD and 60 Control ? (White Plains FD and New Rochelle FD would ALSo be very nice to have). Just curious to know if Seth and EMTBravo were planning on adding any Live Dispatch Links via this Web Site in the near future?
  11. Yes, the Building in Port Chester is very nice indeed, but as far as being the CLASSIC # 1 Station in Westchester County, Yonkers FD Headquarters is by far THE BEST !!! (Bring Back Engine 1)
  12. Although I understand the limitations and expertise needed to learn how to drive a Snorkel Unit within a City Environment, you would think that with the advantages that clearly outweigh the disadvantages, that more cities in Westchester County (such as Mount Vernon [who had one], Yonkers, New Rochelle and White Plains) would have a Snorkel Unit among its fleet.
  13. Does anyone know when the Yonkers Fire Department ceased marking their Rigs with the ensignia marking of Y.F.D. (as they did in the past [ie: 1950's, 1960's]). Does anyone know what was the LAST Yonkers F.D. rig to have the markings Y.F.D. and not just simply "Yonkers Fire Department" or "Yonkers F.D."?
  14. Would love to see the Yonkers FD, 60 Control and Mount Vernon FD Dispatch Channels added to EMTBravo.com as one of the Links off of the Main Page, with a separate incident page to comment off of the dispatches. Seth, I know that many of the members of EMTBravo would be forever in your debt, if you could pull this off.
  15. Heard that Mount Vernon has a bid out for 2 New Engines and 1 New Tower Ladder. Does anyone have any information on that and what they are getting
  16. Busiest Engine - New Rochelle Engine 22 Busiest Truck - Yonkers Ladder 71 Busiest Rescue - Yonkers R1 Busiest Battalion - Yonkers B1
  17. Yonkers, not only has Rescue 1, but they also have their Entire Special Operation Division (Haz Mat, High Water, etc Vechicles) that is housed up at the Ridge Hill Bunker. Also, it has the Collaspe Unit out of Station 11 and the Foam Unit out of Station 13.
  18. Does anyone have any photos of this ALF Midmount behind Station 10?
  19. Maybe some of the Paid Members of YFD, might be willing to "Volunteer" their spare/off duty time to participate in a parade (along with their fellow brothers from other cities and towns) while those who are on the normal hift could man the station with a Spare Rig, while the Front Line Rig is out on a Parade, showing off Yonkers Finest? Just a thought?
  20. Does anyone else have any fond memories of the Old Yonkers Fire Department Rigs of the Late 1950's, 1960's, 1970's and 1980's? (Specific Engine Company/Truck Company/Rescue Company/Spare Rig Specifics) as well as (Specific Engine and Ladder Company/Spare Rig Specifics)?
  21. Would it then be the re-painted made into Ladder 70, "Old Super-Train" Tiller (Originally Ladder 73) - Last of the Old Yonkers Tillers????
  22. Is there any apparatus at parade?
  23. Sad to see the "Old Big House" go. Its History (With the Original "Big 3" (Engine 1, Truck 1, and Rescue 1), without a doubt will always be remembered. Then Just Truck 1 (Then Ladder 71, then Tower Ladder 71), and Now TL 71, Rescue 1 and the Mask Service Unit. HOWEVER, the New "Big House" looks to be a really great place. A combination Fire Headquarters/Training Facility (to replace the Ridge Hill Bunker). That should be some facility to see.
  24. Has anyone heard who has won the bid for the New Yonkers Squad 311. I heard it was between American LaFrance and Smeal. Any and all updates are appreciated
