  2. As I was working yesterday I noticed some guy with a camera standing in the middle of Rt 6... I sure hope that wasn't u... Anyway, if you would like any of Montrose, stop by the fire house, trucks are sitting outside, for the bay is getting painted.
  3. it is with great pleasure that i announce the arrival of my son Robert Scott Gilleo. Robert was born today @ 7:15 am. weighing 6lbs 10oz and measuring 18.5 inches long. he and mom are doing very well. i will try to get pictures up as soon as i can.
  4. Thanks everyone. Up here now seeing both mom and baby. Both are doing very good. Cogs my hair line is already retreating. And @ 25 I have a lot of gray hair. I guess having an adventrous 3 year old will do that. Trying to get pics but not being successful.
  5. verplanck does have a few divers that are still active. the head diver no longer lives in the area. and yes they are certified.
  6. will the person who ordered their van extra crispy report to GPD please... all joking aside nice photos thanks for sharing
  7. its been a few years since i've been on the river. i used to be on the river almost every day in the summer and had to deal with the rockland and westchester county pd stopping me for safety checks. its thier job get over it!!! they are trained by the coast guard and are acting as the coast guard on the river. as i do not see many coast guard units on the river atleast here in northern westchester. all they are doing is making sure everyone has the proper licsensing to operate a PWC. as well as safety equipment. the PWC i used always had more then what they where looking for and they were usually quiet happy about it. as for the boaters the officers are checking to make sure that the operator is not drinking as instructors state in the boaters safety course 1 drink on land is = to 2 on the water. when in doubt anchor in a cove and spend the night. better to be safe then sorry. sorry just my oppion
  8. just dont buy it via Drew Carey. he might through in his bad looking bow tie collection
  9. some of the chiefs trucks that i have seen have had a hi/low switch. which in turn dims the lights so commuters are not blinded and have that halo effect u are talking about. all it is is an extra switch that the operator should use at night time. but dont.
  10. thank you...ive only seen cpap used once. pt had history of copd and low O2 sats. by the time i arrived on scene the medic had it on the pt and we were getting ready to txp to the hospital. kind looks like a NRB mask on steroids.
  11. great photos guys!!! thanks for sharing
  12. so im gonna guess this report pretty much says CPAP is useless??? please if someone can clarify for me...kinda thought CPAP could help someone with COPD.
  13. reguardless of what we all think the department did what they saw fit to make the incident scene safe for not only the IC but for the members of the department operating as well. i was on 684 and 84 today driving back to the station i work out of, and i can honestly say people are CRAZY! me doing 70 was getting passed as if i was standing still. not to mention being cut off several times and being flipped off for "driving to slow" i can now see where the departments thought process was on this vehicle.
  14. what kind of family member would i be if i didnt bust ur chops??? anyway saw the truck the other night @ south salem parade. for the amount of 684 that croton falls covers the lighting is suitable. makes the truck stand out and grab the drivers attention to whats going on.
  15. cause ur truck doesnt fall into this catagory???
  16. After admiring the photos of the Chelsea fire i noticed that rehab for the firefighters was set up. As the hottest month of the year is upon us and august is approaching, i figured i would see what departments use as REHAB ( either VAC, or fire EMS personal). if so what units ur department uses for rehab. thanks in advance stay safe, Ken
  17. spoke with someone today the contract that was picked was only for 4 months. there are a few legal issues that need to be "worked out". as the bids where coming to a close another agency from ct threw their hat into the ring. over heard that some of the comerical agencies that sent in a proposal were Hudson Valley Paramedics, WEMS, OVAC, AMR. just what i heard please if i am wrong feel free to correct me
  18. thanks for the feed back all.... here in montrose and buchanan cortlandt VAC has a REHAB/ MCI uint. which is a chevy work van. unit holds 2 tents, 1 tent attaches to the van for the winter holds in the heat, 1 propane heater for the winter months, 1 mister fan, 2 cooling chairs, 4 regular camping chairs, 2 tables, a portable generator w/ power strip, 6 cases of water 2 coolers filled with water just needs ice when unit gets called, unit has a full set of BLS gear as well as many extra supplies. usually unit rolls with 2 emts, also the fly car with members as well as if we can we try to staff 2 rigs for txp one is designated for the fire scene and starts pt care then turns the pt over to the other rig for txp to the hospital. rehab unit stays on scene and its small enought to make it closer then the ambulances. PFD would love to hook up with u some time to get a better look at plesantvilles rehab unit please pm me. Ken
  19. great pics!!! love the pics of the the EMT's doing REHAB!! and as Remember585 said u can really see how hot and humid it was
  20. truck looks great!!! as always
  21. no MSP does have the vette. usually seen in brooklyn Mi near Michigan International Speedway during race week. they use it as their public relations unit. as well as their chase car.
  22. my wife and i travel to MI on a regular basis. because she is from there. traveling US 23 we see alot of the state troopers. i believe about 60% of the state police fleet is updated with the new LED set up. looks pretty sharp. its kinda funny looking at first but when u acutally see it in use it grabs ur attention. the state police are the only ones that use the "gumball". the towns and counties use LED light bars and ive seen alot of the counties withe the vector LED bar.
  23. ahh yes the indian point battle begins! was only a matter of time before. yes closing indian would be bad for all of us taxes would through the roof. this area would look like downtown detroit. NY is expensive to live in already. closing indain point would make it that much worse. ive lived near indian point for almost 23 years keep it open its not doing any harm to anyone. the moment these people from the city realizes this the easier it would be for them to except that.
  24. seth from my understanding its the village that wants the paid EMT from a commerical agency. so there is no conflict of intrest
