I'm only a jr with Elmsford FD, but its true to an extent the fighting. We have Ladder Co. 1, nd Engine Co. 1, so right there u know theres a feud, ladder nd engine. but that feud is kept to a certain point. jus hangin around, or at drills/parades will u see pranks bein pulled, yea. ladder guys have put the Out of Service tag on the engines, stuff has been written on the unit durin winter when its all dirty, but thas as far as it goes. when the tones go out nd we get a call, it doesnt matter wat company ur from, there is a possible fire, u have a job to do nd the full guys all know it nd put the differences of their company aside.

kick a** pics, granted i was there also. nd about Rescue 6, while it is a spare it has been put into service as Rescue 6 nd is labeled as Rescue 6 as a spare

Elmsford FD gives TOT finder stickers out during fire prevention week at our open house. Something new thats starting to surface are pet finder stickers.

The fact that the storm is coming is probably why its been a calm day, but then again who's complaining?

Elmsford jrs. won best appearing jrs trophe. not sure if the dept. won anything else.

does anybody know where i can get firefighter first responder training and certification and what the requirments are?

Third Watch is definately a better show. Rescue Me is great for off the job effects yea, but no offense watching Rescue Me is like watching Jerry Springer. Third Watch deals with FDNY NYPD and the ems, and has a lot of action both for on and off the job.

i dont have much on my gear. since my crew is only really allowed at ems scenes i have a couple pair of sterile gloves. im gettin a glove-strap soon. i jus have a couple stickers on my helmet because i jus got issued this one as the one ill have for a while, so im buyin the band for it, the flash light, and an attachment for the maglight i have now.

Ladder 49 was an awsome movie, definatley worth the wait. the actors portrayed firefighters so well and i actually saw people crying at the end. i guarantee civilians who go see it will appreciate even further what firefighters do and sacrifice. i give it 2 thumbs up. =D>
