In Hastings on the Saw mill River Parkway if its a confirmed car fire then 2 engiens would go,(E-44,E-45) if its a extrication then a full response which is 3 engiens and the truck and ambulance(whick holds the hydrolic equipment).

Your right, it doesn't make sense, like many of the ridiculous ongoings within the Fire Service in Westchester County, both Career and Volunteer. FDNR is no different when it comes to inadequately staffing apparatus like many of the other Career Depts, with the exception of YFD of course. Manpower seems to be a dead issue for the most part within the Westchester Cnty. Fire Service and unforunately, it always will. ;)

In Torrington,CT when have one highway/parkway. I'ts Route 8, Torrington will send one or two engiens depending on how serious the problem and where its located. Also there are 3 voluteer fire departments on the out skirts of the city.(Burrville FD, Drankville FD, Torringford FD)But both of torringtons engiens

(E-1,E-3) have cutters spreaders and rams.
