From the Secret List.....

We have been advised that Wilbur Ritter, a member of the Sayville (Suffolk County, Long Island, NY) Fire Department died this morning upon returning to quarters from a run.

Wilbur is also a trustee for the FASNY (Fireman's Association of the State of New York)Firemen's Home, which is the only retirement/nursing home in New York State totally devoted to caring for volunteer firefighters. New York State volunteer firefighters with one year of service during their lifetime may be eligible for admission to the Firemen's Home, along with spouses and Ladies Auxiliary members. Our deepest sympathies go out to the members of the Sayville Fire Department as well as FASNY-but especially to the family and friends of Firefighter Ritter.

Rest in Peace.......

May he rest in peace. It is a sad time for the Suffolk Co. firefighting community.

A firematic service is scheduled for Thursday at 7:30pm.

The funeral service is scheduled on Friday, 10:30am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sayville. Interment will be at the Sayville Union Cemetery, Sayville.
