the 70 foot sutphen platform is junk, that is why they can put it on a single axle, because its lightweight junk. don't let the single axle fool you, it still has a long wheelbase and the bucket overhangs, so it's wheelbase and overall length are greater than a 75 ft arialscope, which as platforms go, can far outperform the flimsy sutphen. the weight ratings are the lowest, the nozzles cant go above horizontal, the bucket is tiny, and it has a box under the bucket so you can't set down on anything and opperate from the saftey of the platform. the sutphen is not designed to be used for firefighting, it's designed to look good and be a nice parade rig, that's it. it would be a big mistake to buy one. take a look at arialscope, they make a nice platform.
