I think that would be a portable monitor, Not very portable if you ask me, but they do use them out west.

Do you know where that rig is from? Not that it is in that picture, but I believe Chicago Fire Department has or had a similar system set up. Basically a short wheelbased truck with a high flow deluge gun or monitor mounted on the back. I believe it is referred to as a turret wagon.

If its the one im thinking of, its unit 675, a 1975 Mack MB tractor that was retrofitted with the apparatus.

To be clear - the 1st two pictures ARE Chicago - thats the fig fire from 3 weeks ago that was discussed in a differnet post. This is the rear exposure being covered by this unit, as well as several tower ladders from a parking lot. You can see the 'L' tracks that were closed for a week between 6-7-5 and the building.
