Firefighters/FD Sought For New Reality Show

1 post in this topic

This is passed along as it is from a legitimate TV production company.

Any organization considering offering to participate should seek competent legal advice.

Depending on how the production company handles it, the organization and fire/rescue/EMS organizations in general could come off looking good or very bad.

Thank you for inquiring about our new series.  As we discussed, our company

Hybrid Films is developing a television documentary series for the Oxygen

Network that focuses on the day to day lives of real firefighters.

At this point in our development, we are doing preliminary research into

various fire departments around the country.  One of our priorities is to

find a fire station that has a good mixture of men and women where we could

film for a few weeks at a time.

Our series will follow the daily drama of working as a firefighter. We want

to go beyond the firefighter mythology and stereotypes to show the real

women and men, both on the job and at home, their highs and lows, and the

personal qualities that define ³America¹s Bravest.²

Hybrid is a production company with extensive experience filming series with

rescue and law enforcement professionals in their most dramatic and

sensitive situations ¬ over the last decade we have spent months at a time

following Hostage Negotiators, SWAT/rescue teams, and Homicide Detectives

everywhere from the NYPD to the Memphis Police Department. We¹ve spent time

both on and off the job with the men and woman of those departments. It¹s a

unique privilege to give them an opportunity to tell their own stories, and

audiences a window into their lives. Our series, like ³Dog the Bounty

Hunter,² ³Brooklyn North Homicide Squad² and ³King of Cars², air all over

the world, and are some of the most successful and respected on television

in the US today.

Attached is a flyer that we are distributing to fire stations asking for

people to call us if they think their station would be good on television.

Feel free to distribute it to your members.  We are hoping to find a great,

dynamic team at a station that goes on a decent amount of fire calls and

that has at least one woman on the crew. If you have any thoughts on

particular firehouses or firefighters that might be well suited to this

project or ideas that you think would be interesting for our series I would

love to hear more.

Best regards,

Dan
