Original dispatch for E119, R18, EMS. R18 was having radio work done by Me***com and was DEAD. Command requested R51 from Montrose and had E120 added to the assignment. Victim removed by E119 crew with hand tools. Patient taken ALS to Phelps per the Medic. Patient "doubtful."

CFD Units: 2083, 2084, 2087, 20813, E119, 55B2 (R18 DEAD, E120 Cancelled).

MFD Units: 2271, R51

CVAC: 8811, 88B1

Just a "fun fact" - after installing the County UHF radio in E119 we found our rig dead - a wire to the starter was pulled out, now this.

Thanks Montrose, Thanks CVAC!

Croton police investigating fatal accident on Albany Post Road

By GERALD MCKINSTRY

THE JOURNAL NEWS

(Original publication: July 28, 2007)

CROTON — Police are investigating an automobile accident that killed a man earlier this evening on Route 9A.

Croton police said the driver of a 1998 Chevy Camaro was traveling south on Albany Post Road, just south of the village line, at approximately 7:04 p.m. when the car collided with a tree.

Lt. Russel Harper said it was not known why the driver veered off the road and that the investigation was ongoing.

The car “ran off the road for unknown reasons,” Harper said shortly after 11 p.m.

The driver was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow and pronounced dead on arrival.

Police would not identify the victim because family members had not yet been notified.
