Aerial Walkway Lighting

3 posts in this topic

I think that this technology is a great advancement, and I hope to see it on more aerials. I am from the school of thought that at nighttime, any and all sources of lighting should be put in use at a scene...bring daylight with you.

Yet another "why didn't I think of that" technology that will probably become standard spec'd equipment.

Not only a safety and convenience factor for FF's and victims climbing/descending the aerial, but also would appear to be a big help to the aerial operator as far as positioning goes.

Edit: I wouldn't be surprised if apparatus manufacturers or even after-market equipment companies start offering retro-fit kits for aerial walkway lighting.

Now THAT is a truly amazing idea. Something that should have been thought of a while ago, makes it much safer to use ladders at night now...wonder when the will do this for ground ladders!
