I think WCDES636 and WAS967 will agree with me here...

Remember585, "Peekskill Answering Service" is the way to go.

Too bad they are gone! LOL =D>

As far as Peekskill Answering Service......... They did a hell of a job for being switchboard operators. Besides it cost the Ambulance Corps only $100 a month.

I would take those gals over some of the PD's anyday.

WHAT OTHER FD WAS DISPATCHED BY AN ANSWERING SERVICE IN CENTRAL WETSCHESTER?? :-k

I am not sure about "CENTRAL WESTCHESTER" but I know for a fact at one time maybe late 60's or 70's the Peekskill Answering Service did some Dispatching for Montrose and Buchanan FD's.

I know this because I was once in the building and saw old red buttons "Montrose FD Siren" and "Buchanan FD Siren" they were taped over and not working. Yes, I pushed the button. I just had

too! LOL :)

Not sure exactly what role they played in Dispatching at the time

Primary or Back-Up.

Anyone able to shed some light?

Cffd was dispatched by an answering service in Brewster for a while prior to going with 60-Control, but I don't remember exactly when or for how long.

God Rob ,

I remember going to that place on Washington st you speak of. It amazed me how much more advanced we've gotten since the 1980s. The radio remote for PCVAC reminded me of an old clockradio with door bells on it and remember the 2x6 security system. WOW, I can still hear DM "KJP291 ANswering service to all Garrison ambulance pagers." GOD I'm DATing MYSELF here. "ITs nice to remember just TRY NOT TO LIVE IN THE PAST."

YES GARRISON VAC USED TO BE DISPATCHED by "K J P 291"

PEACE

4 5 (forever I think)LOL
