Structure Fire - 54 Valentine Drive - Chelsea Fire District - 4/25/08

6 posts in this topic

These are my photo's of the incident. The initial dispatch was for a fire on the porch at the above address and before the dispatcher completed the dispatch, it was upgraded to a confirmed structure fire.... Chelsea Asst. Chief Bob Van Tassel (35-2) arrived several minutes later and found a 2 story WF- SFD fully involved.... The house appeared to be about 3000 sq ft. and was approximately 2000 feet in on Valentine Drive which is a dirt road off Stony Kill Rd . Water was in short supply initially until the porta-tank operation was in place. This was one of those fires that had such a head start, it was impossible to change the outcome and it ended up being a complete exterior operation..... Here are the photo's........

A Village of Fishkill F.A.S.T Team member walks the ~ 2000 distance to the fire building as Hughsonville's Tanker backs down the road so they can lay out........

The 5" line now charged, the Village of Fishkill F.A.S.T Team and a DC Sheriff's Deputy continue their journey to the fire building.

Almost there...... The house is fully involved and the 5" is dry again.....

It didn't take long for the house to go up......

Out of water, firefighters wait for the porta-tank operation to begin and their supply of water to return.....

I'll post more later....... Bill
