Catskill Fire Cats 2008 Muster

5 posts in this topic

The Catskill Fire Cats (Catskill Chapter, SPAAMFAA) will present their 32nd Annual Antique Fire Apparatus Show and Muster on Sunday, June 8th 2008. The event will be held, rain or shine, from 9 AM to 4 PM. The location is the same as last year's event - the site of a large warehouse containing part of a massive privately owned collection of antique and classic fire apparatus. This facility has been profiled in Fire Apparatus Journal magazine, 1st Responder News, and many other local news and media outlets, as the site of a FUTURE fire apparatus museum. The muster will be held on the grounds surrounding the warehouse. The physical address of the site is 2618 Route 302, Middletown, NY 10941.

Over 100 trucks are currently stored at this site. Many will be outside on display the day of the event. We hope that many other fire departments and individuals alike will join us with their antique/classic rigs as well. Apparatus 1983 and older will be eligible for show judging, with trophies to be awarded at the conclusion of the event. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 show entries that register.

In addition to the massive apparatus display, there will also be team competitions. Events including Hose Rolling, Bucket Brigade, Midnight Alarm, and a tug of war (replacing Water Barrel). There will also be some children's events.

Firematic vendors are also welcome.

Fees for this year's show are as follows:

- Apparatus for show = $25 per truck

- Competiton team = $15 per team

- Firematic flea market vendor = $25 per 10x20' space, plus donation of an item for a door prize (min. value $5)

There will also be door prizes, 50/50 drawings, food and refreshments, and yours truly will be raffling off two die-cast model trucks. Both of the models are based on actual apparatus that is stored on site.

To request registration info, please contact Bob Reynolds at (845) 343-4746, or PM me through the board. We are also seeking individuals, businesses or fire departments to sponsor some of the trophies which will be awarded for both the truck show and the team competitions. All forms are available as hard copy, or can be e-mailed in PDF format (I have the PDF's).

We hope you will consider joining us. Bring a truck, bring a team, or just bring yourself. It promises to be a great day.

Forgot to mention, registrations will also be accepted upon arrival the day of the show. Does not need to be done in advance. We're hoping for a good turnout. I just hope the weather cooperates!
