Got this email passed along to me from a friend, who has arranged donations for this department. I found it pretty interesting, and thought I would share it with you guys.

Merry Christmas and happy New Year to all. Well here is my annual report. I must say it was our best year ever.  We are now finishing our toy drive that went very well we received thousands of Christmas presents for the poor. Our annual Firemen’s Christmas party yelled 35 new Bicycles for the firemen’s kids. We had a total of 73 children this year at the fire house. The Tulum firehouse will be open in March 2005.

Our web page is up and running at www.bomberosrivieramaya.org inside the web page is a link for Vacations including airfare and hotels in our zone. The money form the web page www.webhtl.com will build and support our firefighters school that is planned to begin early 2005. Below we have listed the activities of our department this year.

 

·  Construction of Bomberos Civil Protection Quintana Roo IAP elected  me President.

· Playa del Carmen Bomberos, State champions Fireman’s Iron man Competition for the second year in a row. 

· Playa Fire dept received the award of Excellence from the Governor of Quintana Roo. National T.V. made a 10 min. video about the Playa del Carmen Bomberos that played Nationally for 6 nights.

· We have donated turnouts to all firemen in the state that did not have them. 

 

Vehicles donated to H. Cuerpo de Bomberos de Solidaridad:

 

· 2 each International Pumper truck 1975 

· 1970 75’-0” Articulating boom truck 

· Ambulance Chevrolet 

· Ambulance Ford

Gear and Equipment donated to the Bomberos 

· 4 radio bases VHF Motorola 

· 12 radio portable VHF Motorola y ICOM 

· 4 sirens Federal Signal 

· 20 boxes paramedic supplies from Firemen New York 

· 2 computers Dell 

· 1 printer HP 

· 5 boxes PPE  Personal Protection Equipment 

· 50 Fireman’s Helmets

· 50 pair of Boots Structural 

· EMS equipment

· Automatic Defibrillator 

· 40 M.S.A.’S

.    MSA analysis test station with chemicals

· 5 complete sets of Diving gear 

· 35 fire hoses structural 2 ½” to 3” 

· 3 cases wildland nozzles gated Y’s & Tees. 

· 3,000 feet of wildland hoses.

· Hose repair station 

· 2 cases Nozzles and valves for Structural Fires. 

· TURBO DRAFT with 10 sections 5” hose

· 4 foaming nozzles. 

· Rescue Zodiac 6 person 

· Installation radio repeater VHF Playa (90mt) 

· Installation radio repeater VHF Tulum (85mt)

· Academy 2004 Fireman’s Ironmans Competition 6 days

· Incident Command Training

· Course re: MAT Mobile Aerial Tower 75 Feet high (MAT 706)

·  Dive Certification course PADI

·  Courses Fire Fighter 1

                                        PROGRAM 2005

 

· Academy 1V Fireman’s Iron man’s Competition end of March 2005

· 10 acres of land and start construction of new Fire fighter’s school. 

· Elevate our training and the training of our total State to be the best in the country of Mexico.

· Open 2 sub stations in our hot zones for faster response times. 

· Import 3 containers full of Fire fighting equipment. Then bring one container down every 3 months.
