Cool photos! What's the story behind the engine that you're restoring?

Side note, my wife actually did her junior year of college abroad in Adelaide.

The engine i am restoring is already in pretty good condition as it was used up until the early 90's at what we call a retained brigade (they get paid while at calls but still respond from home and work like volunteers). As you can see it doesn't need much work.

It is a 1969 International C1600 with South Australian Fire Brigade workshops bodywork, it has a 500GPM MARS pump.

Yes we have alot of people come to our colleges and universitys as they are some of the best in the world.

That...Is an awesome looking International! I heard that American rigs are common in Australia, is this true?

Thanks.

I would say most Fire Appliances in Australia are European chassis but regular big rigs on the street would be half European and half American, most commonly Macks, Kenworths, International, Western star and some Peterbuilts.

This is the kind of rig you will see cruising around the streets of Adelaide...

(My company supplied the lights for this)
