By Hoa Nguyen • The Journal News • October 10, 2008

YONKERS - Two police officers were injured today when their cruiser crashed into a wall after swerving to avoid a boy who was darting across North Broadway, officials said.

"They took evasive action not to hurt the kid," Capt. Sal DiMaggio said at the scene.

The officers were taken to St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers with non-life-threatening injuries that included neck and back pain, police said.

Prayers for a speedy recovery for the officers. I also hope they get reckgonized for thier actions. They put the child's life instead of thier own and because of that the child was not hurt. With all the negative publicity YPD gets especially by media incidents like this should be should be on the headlines.
