End of an era: Port Chester's Last Mack

This past sunday the Port Chester fire dept took its last Mack out of service. This is the end of an era that lasted 82 years. 1926 MACK AC tillered ladder 30, in service till 1948 1944 MACK L-85 ENGINE 58, in service till 1964. 1957 MACK B-95 that was engine 62, in service till 1981. 1964 MACK C-95 that was engine 58, in service till 1981. 1981 MACK CF engine 62, in service till sunday.The work horses are all gone.

Always sad to see a Mack get retired, but I guess it's one of those things where you just have to suck it up and accept the inevitable. :(

Saw a pretty sweet looking Arrow XT pumper on Pierce's New Delivery page. Is that what's replacing the Mack, or is that another company and there's something else in the works here?

At least Goldens Bridge and Dobbs Ferry still have theirs!
