Similar to what happened to FDNY L-31 a few years back I guess...there is a photo at the link below.

As the end of the article states, EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED! Boy I am sure we have all had our fare share of situations that had to have a double take. Now in this situation the crew had no control over what exactly would go down, however let it be a reminder of how very critical scene safety and awareness is. There are countless incidents that are easily preventable that end in costly down time for front line equipment. Stay safe out there.

Up in this part they usually just get stuck in the mud......

Thank god no one was hurt.

Not unless they recently took delivery of a 2004/5 E-One 100' Rearmount that already had been inservice for years as Ladder 8......

Maybe what you are thinking of is Newarks new American LaFrance Rearmount or Jersey Citys 2005 E-One Rearmount as Ladder 9 but looks much nicer.
