Fire and Police from across the other pond...

3 posts in this topic

While on vacation in Taiwan I decided I'd grab a few apparatus shots:

Yilan County, Jiaosi Township Central Station - this is fairly typical for a Taiwanese firehouse, a bunch of apparatus parked in an open bay. More often than not these stations are connected to or near a police station. Most firehouses also have at least one ambulance.

Taipei County, Sindian City Hall Station - Most apparatus here are Japanese models like this one. From what I've seen most stations have enough rigs and personnel to handle a decent sized fire themselves. This particular station houses this Isuzu, another large 6-seat Mitsubishi, a smaller 4-seat Fire Wolf, a 2 person bucket aerial, and a few Minivans and various support vehicles.

Some police shots from Yilan County:

Mistubishi; notice the row of white scooters behind it, most officers go out on patrol riding those rather the station's 3 or 4 patrol cars.

Nissan; a bit of a blurry pic, my apologies:

And the obligatory old banger van:

And an example of what arguably may be the biggest danger firefighters here face:

Don't let the city managers from Buffalo see those Fire Department Mopeds!
