FDNY Operational Reference, 8th ed

3 posts in this topic

This is a GREAT reference and insight into FDNY operations. I highly reccomend it.

FDNY Operational Reference, 8th ed., Jim Griffiths, 2009

What has been described as "the mother of all FDNY reference books" has gotten even better!

The FDNY Operational Reference covers engine, ladder, and rescue/squad operations; includes chief officer operations, training, and statistics; explains foam, hazmat, marine, collapse, pipeline, and airport operations; provides details of dispatch operations, alarm assignment, and radio procedures.

It also lists apparatus assignment for each company and unit; includes an overview of EMS operations and shows ambulance deployment, and much, much more!

8 1/2" x 11", 281 pages, spiral bound, BF1118 / $29.95

In the future, Jim should just publish updates of new material. I compared the 7th and 8th editions and found only a couple of pages that were different. That being said the book is a great reference and I use it all the time

Easier to add the pages to the existing editions and turn a profit.
