This incident occurred during the fire scene operations in June,2009. The operator was working on the 1st floor by knocking down the last standing parts of the building and was on the showroom floor when it gave way and the excavator fell into the basement below. Lucky the operator escaped serious injuries. The excavator was removed later in the day by Stiloski's.

I was on scene when the excavator fell into the basement. the operator of the excavator was able to get himself out of the excavator and out of the hole which he fell through. he did go to the hospital to be evaluated and later in the day he returned to the scene to watch the excavator get removed from the hole.

I was not there but in the photos the excavator in the hole is a 311, not a 320. I note this because of the substantial difference in weights. The 311 is around 14 ton and a 320 is around 25 ton. I think Stiloskis could handle either weight but a 320 might put up more of a fight.
