It is with deep regret that the Stamford public safety family announces the passing of Retired Fire LT. & Dispatcher Walter Finch, after a 16 month battle with cancer. Walt was a true professional, a man with dignity, class, and that calm reassuring voice over the radio that we all became so familiar with, as well as a great all around guy and true friend! Our deepest sympathy goes out to his wife, children, and entire family. Services are as follows:

Wake: Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Ave, Stamford CT - Wednesday, 01/06/10, 4pm-8pm

Funeral Services on Thursday 01/07/10 are private.

Very sorry to read this news. May Lt. Finch rest in peace, and may his family garner strength in the coming days from the love and support the Stamford emergency services community will surely step up and provide.
