PELHAM – The sudden resignation last week of Pelham fire Chief Lawrence M. Cohen was “shocking,” village administrator Robert Yamuder said this morning.

It is time for Pelham to appoint a full time Fire Chief plan and simple.

This is an oportune time for consolidation of the Pelham and Pelham Manor fire departments.

My vote is for LT. James DiNapoli to be appointed permanent Chief of the PFD, by doing so the community and the Fire Service will equally benefit by way of his integrity, experience, and dedication to service.
