Millwood FD new low band freq?

6 posts in this topic

Millwood FD has a pending FCC license amendment for a new freq 45.8200MHz. Does anyone know if this is going to be used as a low band to trunked TalkGroup crossband repeater? The application shows that the base station for this frequency would be located at Station 2 on Rt. 134.

Rumor has it that this will be a link to Fire 17 so the guys can hear what's going on over their low band pagers.

Hey MRK303 - maybe this will help with what you mentioned in the other thread about 46.26?

Only 15 watts for two base antennas but 60 watts for 15 mobile radios. If the bases only are allowed a maximum ERP of 15 watts that's not going to travel far at all.

Millwood FD has received FCC authorization for use of 45.82MHz with a license of WQMX940. I can confirm that this frequency will be used to retransmit Fire 17.

Station 2's elevation is such that there is not much higher ground around, so they virtually have line-of-sight signal coverage to their entire district from there. 15 watts will go far enough to do the job of simulcasting the trunked talk over the low band pager freq.

The Millwood FD crossband (Fire 17/45.82Mhz) repeater is up and and running, I heard it for the first time this morning.
