Description: Fire in a 3 story O/M/D. Heavy fire on arrival of first due units on 2nd floor w/ extenstion to 3rd floor & attic. 4 lines in operation( 1 - deck gun, 2 - 1 3/4in and 1 - 2 1/2 in.). Crews had to knock down heavy volume of fire from exterior before switching to interior ops. House allegedly had 2 illegal appartments. Fire was 2 blocks away from my dorm at the University of New Haven. Heavy smoke condition in the area by the time the 1st due trucks arrived.
