MAHOPAC — A few years ago, Chris and Vinnie Bellissimo, owners of Salem Fence Co., worried that people would forget the importance of 9/11 so they designed and created an elaborate wrought-iron fence commemorating the fateful day.

The brothers, whose father, Vincent, is a retired New York City firefighter, then installed the fence at the entrance to their business on Route 118 in Baldwin Place. It depicts the New York skyline before the twin towers fell and carries the message, "Never Forget 9-11-01."
