Irvington Fire Department - 2011 Suburban Chief's Vehicle

5 posts in this topic

Located in Westchester County New York, the Irvington Fire Department recently took delivery of a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban, assigned to the Chief of Department.

Like most of the FD vehicles we upfit today, the lighting system is 100% Whelen LED incorporating a six head Dominator, LINZ6s and 700 series Super LEDs behind the grille. A Freedom lightbar, LAW4 HideAways in the taillights and an Outer Edge above the rear cargo door complete the warning system. A Dominator traffic advisor was installed on the rear of the roof while four LINZ6s inside the cargo compartment provide rear facing warning when the cargo door is raised. Lighting & siren are all controlled by a CenCom system. Two PAR36 LED floods are configured to provide additional lighting when the vehicle is in reverse.

FD and County radios, a Uniden scanner, CenCom head, power outlets, cup holder, side mount armrest and six inch storage box are all contained in a 24 inch Havis console.

The custom built rear cabinet incorporates storage for turnout gear and SCBA , adjustable shelving and rear radio equipment. The slide out command drawer contains a remarking whiteboard, clear overlay and under board storage for admin supplies.

The reflective graphics package mirrors the other IFD Chief's vehicles.

Our thanks to the Irvington FD for their confidence in Specialty Warning Systems to provide the new Chief's truck, our second one for them. We look forward to working with them in the future on additional projects.
