PA State Police Execute Search Warrant At Local VFD

Pennsylvania State Police yesterday evening executed a search warrant at the Wilkes-Barre Township Volunteer Fire Department. The search warrant was "sealed" so no other information was made available. They searching officer's did leave with many large boxes. Within the last month the Fire Chief from the above mentioned department was arrested and charged with stealing approximately $11,000 from the fire department.

"The affidavit of probable cause filed to support the charges against the chief said Yuknavich withdrew $11,865 in cash from the department’s hall account between October 2008 and August 2010 that was not used for operations or expenses. In addition, it said, he used the hall’s credit card for Sam’s Club to make a total of $3,706 in purchases for his personal use between June 2009 and May 2011."

How was he allowed to withdraw that much money without being questioned? Isn't there a board that oversees the finances of the department?
