Description: Original dispatch was for 8 Rose St. Car 30 arrived on scene and found heavy smoke coming from the area of a large warehouse building with fire in the rear. Immediately a 2nd alarm was transmitted. Structure was a 2 story wood frame vacant, former auto body shop. Units from first alarm went to work as soon as they arrived o/s. They found heavy fire coming from a "turret style" room on the 2nd floor. Appeared as if squatters had been living there as several mattresses were found. An interior attack failed due to the amount of debris found inside the structure. Command had them go defensive and Engine 23 was able to k/d most of the fire with its deck gun along with multiple l/s/o.
