Some very interesting and valid points. Usually I don't read too much into studies that appear in the media, but this one is from a pretty reputable institution as far as studies go. And it's hard to argue some of the points, especially if you're in EMS.

Americans are far more unhealthy than people in 16 other developed countries, and it’s probably our own fault, experts reported on Wednesday. We die younger from diseases such as obesity and heart disease, and we are far more likely to be murdered and die in car accidents, the researchers at the National Academy of Sciences found.

I think we can see where this is aimed-socialism with a liberal agenda. The 'policy makers' need to the exact opposite...
