Yonkers Police Offer Free Vehicle ID Etching Friday

As part of National Police Week the Yonkers police is sponsoring a free program to etch vehicle identification numbers on city residents’ car windows.

The process helps ward off car thieves, and some insurance carriers also give rate discounts, police said.

The VIN etching program will be held at the Yonkers Police Community Affairs Division between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday.
