NYC 911 System Failure.... Again!

Bombshell emails show officials knew 911 was 'losing' calls before Ariel Russo's death A 'lost call' happens when transmissions from the NYPD to EMS fail to reach the intended recipient. The head of computer programming for EMS wrote that several 'lost calls' happen each day, sometimes preventing a response. BY JUAN GONZALEZ / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS MONDAY, JULY 1, 2013, 10:40 PM

Less than 24 hours after the death of little Ariel Russo in a car accident on the upper West Side, EMS supervisors began an exchange of bombshell emails about repeated “lost calls” from the city’s new 911 system.

The emails obtained by the Daily News show for the first time that high-ranking officials knew the extent of the problems with the $88 million system very early on — just days after the system was launched and before 4-year-old Ariel died.

NOTE: It's not the Dispatchers or Responders. It's the ICAD System

NEW YORK -- A part of New York City's massive emergency call system has stalled four times in a day.

It forced call takers and dispatchers on to use paper and pencil to take down information.

The system was stalled for a total of 45 minutes Monday, but fire officials said it appeared to be back on track by afternoon.

The system no in place when on the drawing boad was a excellent idea, it had GPS ability, Unit availability, etc. The problem was they installed the system and disconnected our old system without slowly introducing the new system. The dispatchers have not had enough training on the new system and the GPS module is not locating EMS buses properly. They have to try to reconnect the old system ( I hope ) and keep playing with the new one. I complained about this system months ago
