Taconic State Parkway Construction In Putnam This Summer

2 posts in this topic

Why can't just do it right the first time? Find someway to push the parkway over the cliff to widen it and make it safer.

Wonder how this traffic and one lane will affect emergency response?

PUTNAM VALLEY, NY- A $2.8 million Taconic Parkway construction project due to begin Monday has been delayed until July 15, but drivers are still urged to begin making plans to deal with the heavier traffic and delays the project will cause.

Starting July 15 and for the next three months, the 1.2 mile stretch of the busy parkway between Peekskill Hollow Road and Bryant Pond Road will be reduced to one lane. The Peekskill Hollow Road southbound ramp will also be closed for the duration of the project, and drivers should expect temporary lane and shoulder closures northbound as well.
