Transportation Volunteers Wanted For Hudson Valley Honor Flight April 26th

2 posts in this topic

NYSP Troop-F: Ken Sincerbox, a Trooper in Troop F, has contacted the PBA and asked for help in finding transportation volunteers to assist with the Hudson Valley Hon...or Flight. His sister, Katie Sincerbox, volunteers as the Transportation Coordinator for Hudson Valley Honor Flight. Honor Flight is a not-for-profit program that helps World War II Veterans from the area make a trip to Washington, D.C. to see the WW II Memorial. The flight itself and most other expenses incurred for the trip have already been paid for through other charitable means. Transportation volunteers are needed to help behind the scenes to make this special day possible.

Volunteers are needed to pick the Veterans up at their homes on Saturday, April 26th and get them to the ShopRite in Montgomery, New York (Orange County) by 7:00 A.M. to be bused to Stewart Airport a few miles away where a chartered plane is awaiting them. Then, those same transportation volunteers would pick up their assigned Veteran about 8:00 P.M. when they return from D.C. to Stewart Airport and drive them back to their homes.

Katie Sincerbox is struggling with identifying potential transportation volunteers who live in Rockland, Westchester and Putnam counties. If would like to assist, please contact Katie Sincerbox by email at sincerboxk@gmail.com

This morning, JFLYNN, along with several other members of this site, participated in this event. Thank you for helping those that served see the memorial in DC and honor those that didn't come home with them.

If you participated, feel free to chime in on your experience.
