FDNY probes chief over leaks to Post

7 posts in this topic

This is the second instance of the FDNY subpoenaing phone records of an employee in 6 months. How is this okay? I didn't realize a subpoena could be used as a net, to be cast out and see what could be gotten.....

The lesson? Speak out against an injustice and get slapped for it!

I didn't realize that the FDNY could subpoena anything. When did they become a sitting Judge? What a bunch of TURDS!!!!

A judge does not need to sign a subpoena, if you do not answer it you then can face a judge. The FDNY has unique powers of subpoena, they are defined in the City rules.

Correct.....however the way they are being used is both possibly illegal and most definitely not in keeping with the reason that the FDNY was granted subpoena powers.

DOI should be doing it. But then again it is the Post and that Susan Edelman is just doing what she always does, and that is writing garbage to sell papers.

I'm assuming that the cellphone was his personal one. Will this set a precedent that employers can disregard their employees rights to basic privacy?
