Pelham Looking To Get Used FDNY Seagrave Engine

6 posts in this topic

The Village of Pelham FD is looking into and talking with the FDNY to buy a 1990 something Seagrave Engine. The engine will replace the current Eng 5 which is a 1978 Seagrave. This wont be the 1st time that Pelham bought a FDNY engine in the early 90's they bought a 1978 Mack ex Eng 290 that replaced the old Eng 5 which at the time was a 1956? ALF. They got 6-7 good years out of the Mack then when the new Eng 4 arivved in 1997 the Mack was donated to WCFC for training. Eng 5 is the 2nd due engine and the eng that Pelham takes out of town for mutial aid .I heard this might happen by the end of the summer or early fall about the time that the New Ladder 2 comes in.

Cool. Will this engine be refurbed, or will it go into service as-is like the Mack?
