A new fire truck being delivered to a Long Island department crashed on Interstate 84 East in Hopewell Junction today, state police confirmed.

"It was a brand new fire truck being delivered" to the Islip Terrace Fire Department in Nassau County, said Melissa McMorris, a state police spokeswoman. The delivery driver was "transported to Danbury Hospital" in Connecticut.

Sad to see a brand new rig beat up like that.  It didn't look like it was in bad shape...Maybe a few repairs needed.

Well luckily no one was seriously hurt. Sucks to see a new rig get busted up. Islip is a pretty big department so i am sure they can peel a few bills off and either get it fixed or just buy a new one.

Crashed in a very convenient location though. The Seagrave dealer and service center is right down the road. Not the same dealer that sold it though.
