All Groups Working Together

5 posts in this topic

Hmm, here is a concept to consider. Between all groups that work together and depend upon one another, there needs to be a formal way for each group to communicate their needs. i.e meetings of leaders of those groups etc. Expecting those groups to work harmoniously without the presence of a way for each group to discuss how they see things going is unrealistic. 60 Control and the regions fire departments need to meet, maybe 2 times a year, with Chiefs present, to iron all that needs to be ironed out. Simple. Does that happen?

in battalion 16 we meet quarterly with all chiefs and bat 16. we talk about our concerns about response and training. also there is northern districts and westchester county fire chiefs assn. where we end up seeing john marshall or john jackson and we end up with most of the same comments. things seam to be working alot better.

Ladder 49,

You,along with all other volunteer firefighters, are more than welcome to join the Westchester County Volunteer Firemen's Association and attend meetings. There, you will hear reports from all the various groups ,committees, boards etc. on which all the various facets of the fire service participate together and work towards common goals. I think you would be shocked to find out how often the various departments and countywide groups meet together.

For information on the next meeting, just see the current issue of the Westchester Volunteer for the time and place you're more than welcome to attend.
